Love that Forge has dived into Cab Franc. We must have been n the Finger Lakes (May 2023) around the same time. I cheked out Ravines, Dr. Frank, Six Eighty Cellars and Heron Hill.
I couldn't agree more. And so far, the wines they've produced have been terrific! I actually haven't visited any of those estate, but I am familiar with their wines. Next time you're there you'll have to stop by Forge and try their francs!
They are definitely leading the way in the Finger Lakes, not just for Cabernet Franc too. Hopefully you have a chance to taste the wines at some point, either in the US or Mexico!
I've wanted to taste a Cab Franc from Forge ever since I first heard you talk about them, many moons ago! This has only made me want to try some even more. Seems to have been a (small) bit of talk around Finger Lakes wine in the UK recently, it's a shame it's still so hard to get hold of. Another excellent Newsletter Allison. The way you describe the wines continues to be utterly captivating!
Thank you for the kind words, Tom! And indeed there is a buzz growing around the Finger Lakes. It’s super exciting! Hopefully that means you’ll have an easier time finding the wines in the future. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

These wines sound very appealing. And the winery seems to take things very meticulously. Looking forward to try someday Forge wines. 🍷
